Murder @ Orchard Road? Is it that simple?
I am shocked.
Woman’s Head, Limbs dumped at the heart of orchard road. Whoa! This is huge.
Think about it for a second. Why would a sound killer knowingly not cover his tracks? Was he mad? What was his motive? Was he trying to send a message to the public? Why orchard road?
We can break the answer to two sections.
Firstly assuming that he is crazy and of an unsound mind, his general mentality would be its not big deal. He didn’t really care even if the police found out. I would say that he derives a certain amount of pleasure and delight seeing the police make a mad frenzy to uncover the missing body parts.
As often as we see in the movies, these psychopaths are likened to that of terrorists. They have no regard for others, and they want to send out a scare message to all Singaporeans. We also could tell that it was a pretty vengeful move to show how much he hated the victim.
Secondly, assuming that he was of a sound mind, he would have covered his tracks very well and disposed the body in a deserted and isolated place in the hope that the body parts would never be found.
However this guy knows that the law would catch up with him eventually and he would be uncovered. So to save himself, he did the exact opposite and disposes the body in open area. He could later plead insanity as his defence and escape the gallows.
But what is the reason for this murder? Money? Crime of passion? Hatred? Underworld dealings? Serial murder?
The most probable reason would be crime of passion. I don’t think this was a pre planned murder as the whole case seemed rather disorganised and floppy. The way the murderer disposed of the body parts seems to show he didn’t really put much thought into it and was done in a rush.
Take for example, apparently the murderer cut the body up to 6 different body parts. He chose to dispose majority of the body parts in orchard road and the remaining one at MacRitchie Reservoir. Why?
We all knew that the killer wanted the body parts to be uncovered, so why didn’t he just dump all the body parts at orchard. Why did he take all the trouble to travel to MacRitchie to dispose the last body part? What is the significance of MacRitchie?
I am baffled as I seem to have more questions than answers.
