I gave up reading Balkin and Davis a long time back. Some interesting observations of the book (i) its should be burned and never seen on the face of the earth ever again (ii) it should be buried deep underneath the surface of this earth “cuis est solum eius usque ad certrin et ad infernos” to whom the soil belongs, he also owns the sky and the depth” (iii) lastly it should be used for conservation of our natural earth in the form of high grade recycling paper for our human waste.

Why would anyone ever buy this book? Its English is incomprehandable, it makes people with reasonable fortitude go to sleep and its wording is in times new roman size font 12 and that’s way too small to fit into a book with 500 over pages.

Torts is such a wrong arm of the law, it makes people fight over their rights. Who gave us our rights in the first place? He who gave us our rights must have been a supreme being who never expected such disharmony and bickering among his creation over their supposed rights. So it all boils down to this, we were never intended to have any rights but because as society ages and the world becomes more sophisticated and affluent, people’s values and attitudes changes. That will lead to people getting hurt more often due to the notion of pride brought about their supposed wealth and establishment, and therefore torts have arisen. I strangely disagree that torts is meant to compensate injured people for their loss because if a loved one died, it practically means he has moved on to a better place called “heaven”. W e should reward the tortfeasor instead of punishing them and I have to place a word of caution on this statement, these are entirely my views please do not email this writer in retaliation because this writer is undergoing a very high level of stress from the law examinations tomorrow and Friday.

I have just been offered 2 great internships at Drew and Napier and Infideon corporations. I am trying to plan the internships that it run back to back because I really want to keep myself busy during the holidays. “An idle mind is a dangerous mind” according to my beliefs so hence this conclusion. I will miss out time to relax and bum with friends and all, but seriously when I looked back over the last semester I have been bumming hard, so perhaps its time to put my mind in good use in the corporate world where I can put my head to good use.

Someone asked me recently, what is morality? Morality is a subjective test. Morality can never be quantified like other verbs and words. Morality is wholly dependable on ones values and beliefs and that is a variable influences by both internal and external forces. I don’t necessary believe everyone has a similar threshold of morality as some people’s good side may have been eroded over the years due to the hardening of heart, but I believe in universal values that has existed from the time we are born. Take for example; murder is a wrong that can never be challenged. But there is a fine line where we must know how to distinguish. Recently I had a discussion with a friend regarding homosexuality. His response is that it is wrong. He did not even paused and think, his answer is in the affirmative. I have to disagree with him because this is the finer issue that we cannot use our head knowledge to determine. This is not one of the universal values that the world shares. At the end of the day, my stance is clear and that is homosexuality is to do with an individuals way of life. And who gives us the right to say that what is right and what is wrong? And my friends response still baffles me to the extent to which brought me to the awareness that stereotyping is still very avid in our modern society which leads me to the conclusion, my friends needs to learn dialectic logic and remove his ethnocentrism and learn to appreciate other cultures and what they represent.
